Gauthier Vasseur
Executive Director of the Fisher Center for Business Analytics at University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business

Gauthier started his career in auditing, corporate finance and treasury. In 2004, he moved to the technology world, becoming director of product marketing for performance management solutions at Hyperion in Silicon Valley. In 2007, he joined Google as director of financial data management. He then joined TriNet as Vice President of Data Solutions. In 2008, he took his first data courses at Stanford. In 2017, he founded the Data Wise Academy. In 2018, he joined UC Berkeley to lead the Fisher Center for Business Analytics at the Haas School of Business. In 2018, he became a founding partner of Le Pont in France. Gauthier is also the author of the book Become a Data Pioneer.

Marcel Engel
Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Germany

He has been the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Germany since 2016. Today, the network has more than 1100 participants. Between 1997 and 2014, Marcel worked in various senior positions at WBCSD, a CEO-led business association of 200 leading global companies. As a member of the Executive Management Team, his responsibilities included WBCSD’s Global Network of partner organizations and the Development and Social Capital Focus Areas. His earlier professional experience includes an engagement as a professional officer at UNIDO in Mexico between 1994 and 1996. Marcel holds degrees in International Relations and Development Studies from the University of Konstanz and the London School of Economics, as well as a Swiss Hotel Management diploma.

Yevheniya Afanasenko
British-Ukrainian environmentalist, ESG professional, and sustainability promoter

Yevheniya is a Principal Environmental Advisor for EBRD, where she helps clients in all countries of operations to implement projects in line with international best practices for sustainable management of environmental and social impacts. Yevheniya is an active member of ASDE. She holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Protection and Management and is also a certified ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001 Auditor, NEBOSH and CSR Practitioner. Yevheniya’s work focuses on topics such as environmental and social assessment and management, regulatory compliance, ESG, sustainability, climate change, biodiversity protection, renewable energy and green infrastructure.

Antonio Hautle
Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Switzerland & Liechtenstein

Prior to his appointment to this position, he was Director of Fastenopfer (Swiss Catholic Lenten Fund) from 2001 to 2013 and Director of the Department of Social Affairs and Society for the State of Lucerne until 2015. Antonio has a background in Philosophy, Business Ethics and Catholic Theology (Elève titulaire, Ecole Biblique et Archéologique Française Jérusalem, Master Pontificia Università Gregoriana, Rome) and holds a Master in Business Administration from the HEC University of Geneva.

Vanessa Hans
Head of Private Sector at the Basel Institute on Governance

The Institute is an independent not-for-profit center of excellence working globally to strengthen governance and fight corruption. Vanessa’s work focuses on corporate governance and anti-corruption compliance projects as well as Collective Action initiatives. She also has experience advising companies on corporate social responsibility and international development strategies. She was previously the Executive Director of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from HEC Montreal and a Masters in Corporate Social Responsibility from the University of Nottingham.

Hitomi Sakamoto
Distinguished Professor at Toyo Gakuen University in Tokyo, Japan

Hitomi is a Distinguished Professor at Toyo Gakuen University in Japan, where she previously led the SDGs Study Group and directed the International Career Program. Her academic interests include Native American culture and teaching English to young learners, informed by her learning of ecological philosophy from Native American communities. Her commitment to volunteer work with people with disabilities dates back to her undergraduate years. An Irish government scholarship enabled her to study in Ireland, where she gained a deep appreciation for the value of respecting all cultures, regardless of size.
