Gauthier started his career in auditing, corporate finance and treasury. In 2004, he moved to the technology world, becoming director of product marketing for performance management solutions at Hyperion in Silicon Valley. In 2007, he joined Google as director of financial data management. He then joined TriNet as Vice President of Data Solutions. In 2008, he took his first data courses at Stanford. In 2017, he founded the Data Wise Academy. In 2018, he joined UC Berkeley to lead the Fisher Center for Business Analytics at the Haas School of Business. In 2018, he became a founding partner of Le Pont in France. Gauthier is also the author of the book Become a Data Pioneer.
