Culinary Start

Culinary Start

Project description:
The “Culinary Start” project was initiated due to the shortage of qualified personnel in the HoReCa sector in Ukraine, which arose from the low level of training in educational institutions and the outflow of specialists abroad. The field of vocational education in Ukraine faces challenges such as unmotivated students and teachers, lack of professional skills enhancement, outdated teaching methods, and obsolete material and technical resources. A particular problem in culinary educational institutions is the lack of budgeting for foodstuffs needed for practical lessons. As a result, students who cannot afford to purchase goods for practical classes are unable to participate. Therefore, the company initiated a collaboration with one of the vocational colleges in Kyiv.
Assistance to the college was provided in three areas:
Strengthening professional training by organizing workshops at the college and leading restaurants in Kyiv, conducted by top chefs.
Improving the material and technical base by equipping a modern kitchen laboratory.
Enhancing the educational process by providing high-quality products for practical lessons for all students.
In the first 16 months of the project, 350 students were involved. The college laboratories were equipped with professional equipment, and the teachers received training from leading chefs in Ukraine.
