CSR & DEI. All Unique – All Equal

«Winner in the category People»
Project description:
Challenge: More than 3 million people with disabilities live in Ukraine, and this number is steadily growing. For 83% of Ukrainians, accessibility has already become a core social value. Accordingly, employees, clients, and society now place greater emphasis on creating a fair and comfortable working environment, equal opportunities, and accessible, barrier-free services. These factors require a unified approach and the integration of inclusion into the Bank’s DNA. At the same time, the war has brought new challenges: the urgent need to provide systematic support for vulnerable groups, assist communities, and implement large-scale CSR projects in the fields of humanitarian and social aid.
Solution: Raiffeisen Bank has combined its CSR and DEI initiatives into the program “All Different – All Equal”, which covers policies, training, social responsibility, infrastructure, and services:
- For employees – an inclusive culture, equal opportunities, veteran support programs, and wellbeing initiatives.
- For clients – barrier-free branches, inclusive ATMs, products tailored for veterans, DEI training for employees, and more.
- For society – large-scale social responsibility projects, partnerships with leading foundations, and the launch of proprietary programs for veterans, children, and communities.
Result: The program has strengthened an environment of trust and support:
- For employees – 58 veterans work at the Bank, 95% of employees are aware of its charitable activities, and 90% consider its culture inclusive; the eNPS has increased by 19 points. Equality and inclusivity policies have been introduced, along with women’s leadership programs, youth initiatives, and DEI training.
- For clients – 225 branches have become barrier-free; the “Gratitude” card for veterans has been introduced; online sign language interpretation, home delivery of cards for people with disabilities, ATMs with voice guidance and Braille stickers have been launched.
- For society – Raiffeisen Bank has become the largest donor among all banks in Ukraine, providing UAH 1.7 billion in aid to the population: more than 100 shelters have been set up in schools for children (“Zakhystok: Safe Education” program); 217 veteran and small businesses have been financed with grants (“Brave” program); 91 institutions working with children have been supported (“Kids Safe Haven” program); and over 80 surgeries for wounded servicemen have been carried out (in partnership with Dobrobut, Oberig, and Superhumans).
