Waste Collection and Reforestation in Areas Affected by the DANA (Valencia)

Project description:
Challenge: Following the damage caused by the DANA, the Turia riverbank area lost part of its native vegetation and accumulated waste that threatened local biodiversity. The challenge was to restore this ecosystem by reforesting native species and cleaning up the environment, while also promoting environmental awareness and the active involvement of our team in conserving the natural environment.
Solution: In collaboration with the LIMNE Foundation, Alani Higiene Profesional carried out a reforestation day with native species, planting 60 helophytes characteristic of riparian ecosystems. In addition, an educational and waste collection activity was carried out on a section of the Turia River, which allowed Alani Higiene Profesional to learn about the state of the ecosystem, promote environmental awareness, and reduce the impact of pollution.
Result: The initiative enabled the restoration and reinforcement of native riparian vegetation, contributing to improved water quality and habitat for local wildlife. Waste in the river environment was reduced, and the team’s active participation in protecting the natural environment was encouraged. The experience strengthened the company’s environmental commitment and had a positive ecological and social impact on the Turia River area.
