Project description:

In the residential care department of the Territorial Center for Social Services (provision of social services) of the Zavallivska Settlement Council, there are 48 elderly individuals with special needs who require round-the-clock care and assistance with hygiene procedures. Due to the challenging situation in the energy system and frequent power outages, the urgent issue in the residential care department has become ensuring the availability of sufficient hot water supply under limited energy supply conditions.

As part of the project, a year-round solar water heating system with a 500-liter capacity was purchased and installed on the roof of the residential care department building. The distinctive feature of this system is that it does not depend on the ambient temperature and will operate in different seasons of the year.

The implementation of the project has helped to drastically solve the issue of hot water and significantly improve the living conditions for the residents in the residential care department of the Territorial Center for Social Services (provision of social services) of the Zavallivska Settlement Council, especially during prolonged power outages. The use of clean solar energy will help the community reduce electricity costs and avoid the emission of thousands of tons of greenhouse gasses, contributing to environmental preservation and the fight against climate change.
