Traveling Library

Traveling Library

Project description:
One of the priority areas of corporate social responsibility for Netgazeti and Tegeta Holding is the educational field.
The companies are involved in an original project to encourage education, which involves filling the shelves of empty libraries in the highland villages of Adjara with the help of the first traveling library in Georgia, also known as Bookmobile.
The goal of the project is to involve as many teenagers as possible in the process of promoting reading and to make their daily lives more interesting and diverse because access to books in the mentioned region is a big problem.
The Traveling Library truck was created in cooperation with Tegeta Truck & Bus and its German partners.” Periodically, Tegeta holds interesting meetings for local readers with various famous people. Meetings with residents include discussions around various literary works that address women’s empowerment and gender equality.
The current number of beneficiaries for the project is 65 rural and school libraries in the highlands of Adjara. The NGO packed and distributed more than 70,000 GEL worth of books, with 50,000 GEL worth of books given as gifts during the expedition. These books were carefully selected to cater to the diverse needs and interests of the recipients. With the involvement of Tegeta Holding, the traveling library visited about 6 villages and organized meetings for more than 300 people.
