The history of clean Kyiv 2022. Unknown civilian heroes

Project description:

According to the company’s statistics, an average Kyiv citizen produces approximately 30-50 kg of garbage per month. The occupation of the region bordering on the city at the beginning of the full-scale invasion led to an increased amount of organic waste, construction waste and packaging garbage, resulting in the production of 30,000,000 kg of garbage monthly. If all this garbage had been left on the streets, it would have caused a sanitary catastrophe.

Even in these dangerous circumstances, the company continued its work. The enterprise’s employees did not leave the city and remained at their workplaces. During the active battles in the Kyiv region, the company not only maintained its operations but also expanded its efforts. There were 21 crews in March 2022, 23 crews in April 2022 and 25 crews in May 2022. Each crew consists of three employees (1 driver and 2 loaders) and a garbage truck. In total, the company disposed of 43% of Kyiv’s waste for recycling, primarily on the right bank, which was closer to the front lines, amounting to nearly 500 tons daily. Kyiv now remains clean.
