Solar Power Plant on the Rooftop of TSUM Kyiv

Solar Power Plant on the Rooftop of TSUM Kyiv

Project description:
Challenge: TSUM Kyiv set a goal to transition partially to renewable energy sources and implement energy-efficient solutions that meet environmental standards while preserving the architectural integrity of its historic building in the city center.
Solution: In partnership with YASNO, an energy company, TSUM Kyiv installed its own 130 kW solar power plant on the building’s rooftop — the first project of this scale implemented in the very center of Kyiv amid historical architecture and administrative buildings. The entire project took three months, from design to installation of 222 solar panels covering 550 m² of rooftop surface.Result: The solar power plant now covers up to 10% of the department store’s electricity needs on sunny days. By generating renewable energy, it significantly reduces CO₂ emissions and provides a reliable backup power source, enabling TSUM Kyiv to continue operations even during power outages.
