Rebuild of the power system of Ukraine Project “Berezan Solar”

Rebuild of the power system of Ukraine Project “Berezan Solar”

Project description:

Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine’s energy sector has lost more than 50% of its generation. In November 2023, at the peak of the electricity shortage, ETG.UA decided to take an active part in the rebuilding of the power system and support Ukraine’s energy sustainability. In no time, within 3 months, ETG.UA built and launched PV “Berezan Solar”, providing electricity to the town of Berezan in the Kyiv region, the one which was the most affected by the destruction. “Berezan Solar” consists of 8 stations with a total capacity of 7.3 MW and an annual green generation of 8700 MWh.

In partnership with Berezan town authorities, JSB Ukrgasbank, ETG.UA team ensured the implementation of the project, from the idea of launching in November 2023 to commissioning on February 01, 2024, just in 3 months, thus responding quickly and effectively to the challenges faced by the Ukrainian energy sector. “Berezan Solar” project has become part of Ukraine’s rebuilding program. To build this project, ETG.UA attracted co-funding in partnership with JSB Ukrgasbank under the State recovery program “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%”.

“Berezan Solar” is part of the rebuilding program of Ukraine`s energy sector, which suffered the most from the war. It was implemented in accordance with the principles of sustainable development towards the environmental future of Ukraine. The annual reduction of CO2 emissions is 5,195.4 tons. The annual volume of 8,751 MWh will provide the town of Berezan in Kyiv region with green energy in the face of an acute shortage. This is the first case since Ukraine’s independence when renewable energy is supplied directly to the customer portfolio without the support of a green tariff under the terms of the corporate PPA.
