Projekt O2

Project description:
Project O2 is a Croatian project aimed at developing awareness for the need to protect forests through socially motivated planting of trees in burned, cut, and degraded areas, using innovative reforestation systems, and through educational programs. From the air, with a drone and SeedBombs packets, Magic Forest restores/plants forests many times faster and possibly in hard-to-reach or inaccessible locations. The goal is to maintain as much biodiversity and a sustainable ecosystem as possible and to involve the population in forest restoration and thus reduce CO2. Forests, as “reservoirs” of carbon dioxide, are crucial for the functioning of the ecosystem and the most important factor in the fight against climate change.
It is the only such solution within the European Union and the entire model can, with adaptation, be applied everywhere. To include the broadest public, Project O2 Vouchers were designed for the digital financing of planting new forests from business and private users. Registered voucher owners are notified by e-mail when and where their voucher has been used. The ultimate goal is to restore as much land as possible, not only in Croatia but also beyond.
