Professional training of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU)

Professional training of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU)

Project description:

Challenge: Rescuers of the SESU in the Poltava region work daily in critical conditions where every minute may save lives. During the war, they are the first to arrive at sites of shelling, explosions, and destruction. The survival of victims depends on their first aid skills. However, the existing training system in Ukraine cannot provide the necessary level and scale of personnel training.

Solution: The project combined expertise and corporate social responsibility: FAST developed a certified program and conducted first aid training, while Aurora provided funding and communication support. Training of up to 700 rescuers in 35 groups will enhance their readiness to act quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Result: Rescuers acquired vital skills, including stopping severe bleeding, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and stabilising conditions in cases of trauma and blast injuries. Thanks to the project, 600–700 participants will be trained and provided with 21 training equipment sets and 20 car first aid kits. Real cases have already been recorded in which the obtained skills helped save victims, strengthening community safety in wartime conditions.
