Project description:

Since 24th February 2022, 5,339 of company’s employees (10%) have taken up arms to defend Ukraine. During this time, the company lost 302 colleagues, and 850 were wounded. Despite these challenges, 832 defenders have already returned to civilian life, with 60% rejoining their teams..

The company’s support programme for defenders and veterans includes:

  1. Physical and mental health: insurance for all mobilised personnel; medical care for the wounded and an expanded health package Veteran+,. for those who have returned; in-house psychologists and psychotherapeutic support.
  2. Work: mentorship and coordinator support (“Defender’s Assistant”), retraining.
  3. Finances: certificates for military gear; assistance for the wounded; monthly payments for the families of servicemen.
  4. Social integration: legal assistance; veteran communities; initiatives within local communities.
  5. Self-realisation: volunteering, sports, creativity.
  6. Recovery and rest: wellness trips.
  7. Honouring the fallen

The company’s project has helped 500 veterans return to work, with an additional 127 joining DTEK team. Every second veteran has utilised the Veteran policy. The company has 12 in-house psychologists and 5 coordinators to support defenders in their adaptation. 30 veterans, after retraining, have received new positions, and a special catalogue of accessible professions has been created for veterans with disabilities.

“Pro Veteran” is a project involving all DTEK Group businesses and in collaboration with the Ministry of Veterans, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Social Policy, non-governmental financial and grant institutions (IREX), specialized NGOs (VeteranHub, “Barrier-Free”, “Free People Employment Centre”, and others), trade union organisations, and other representatives of the corporate sector, in particular Metinvest, MHP, Nova Poshta, Ukrzaliznytsia.
