Lighthouse-keepers: Business and Human Rights Cooperation Network

Project description:
The objective of the project is to create and develop a network of BHR experts and to raise awareness about business and human rights in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
The Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University together with its partners created a course which includes content for the wider public, and a pilot group of future experts (25 people). The obtained knowledge, skills, and competencies will allow them to support the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in their respective countries, which will contribute to improvements in the respect for human rights within business operations. At the same time, the project has undertaken the establishment of a universal standard to be developed to guide interactions between NGOs and businesses.
The network of experts brought together in this project will result in better human rights advocacy, education, and training, which will lead to an improvement in human rights protection in Poland, Ukraine as well as other countries participating in the Summer Academy of Human Rights and Business.
