Challenge: 

Usually, students face problems gaining the first work experience needed for further employment and career building. Moreover, many of them face financial difficulties, which prevents them from fully concentrating on their studies.

Solution: 

For the fifth year in a row, ETERNA LAW has been implementing the “Legal Triathlon” project to support talented young people, students of Ukrainian universities’ law departments. The winners of the competition, students of the 4th-6th courses, have an opportunity to do an internship at ETERNA LAW, one of the best law firms in Ukraine, with the possibility of further employment. The project also aims to provide financial support to the scholarship competition winners during the academic year. Thus, annually, the winner receives a monthly grant of UAH 1.500 (the Cabinet of Ministers is planning to increase scholarships in 2022, then the increased scholarship for university students will equal to UAH 1.600). To take part in the competition, one must go through 3 stages:

– At the first stage, participants write an essay on a given topic;

– The authors of the 15 best essays receive tasks in English and legal case;

– Five finalists reach the third stage, where they will have a personal meeting and an interview with a partner of the relevant practice.

Results: 

During five years of the competition, about two thousand students took part in the project, five of them underwent internships at the firm, and five more received a UAH 1.500 scholarship.
