ІТ education. Equal opportunities for all

Project description:
Diversity, equity and inclusion, as one of SoftServe’s strategic areas of sustainable development, became extremely important in Ukraine in the context of the war.
The company expects up to 2 million veterans, tens of thousands of people with disabilities, millions of IDPs, and people who will need additional support from the state, business and society.
In 2023, the global EmpowerU program was launched, targeting diverse communities, including women, people with disabilities, veterans, refugees and others. In partnership with public organizations, the company organized several months of free training courses in various IT disciplines.
There are about 100 graduates (veterans, military and their family members, people with disabilities, single mothers, teenage mothers) in Ukraine, Poland, Mexico and Colombia. Till the end of 2023, SoftServe is planning additional recruitment in these countries, as well as starting a program in Bulgaria, Romania and Chile.
The project Generation Tech has been launched especially for the children of Ukrainian soldiers and veterans. It was preceded by our IT Pupil project, which started back in 2016 and covered over 600 children from orphanages and vulnerable families.
As a result of the first round, 109 children had the opportunity to work with SoftServe mentors for three months and learn programming languages, the basics of cyber security, teamwork and public speaking.
