Hybrid Solution in Ukraine 2024

Hybrid Solution in Ukraine 2024

Project description:
More than a year after the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine is still facing challenges in terms of energy supply and environmental sustainability. Recurrent Russian attacks on electricity supply systems have had an impact of over 50% on the Ukrainian network, and as a result, power cuts are becoming a daily occurrence, affecting the population of Ukraine in their daily lives and confronting the energy needs of the coming winter. To meet these challenges, it is essential to develop sustainable, hybrid, low-carbon energy solutions that support public services while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In order to solve the problem of energy supply, Electriciens sans frontières and its local partners, including the Charitable Foundation ‘Fortechnyi’, are carrying out a project aimed at ensuring a sustainable and reliable supply of low-emission renewable energy for basic service units, particularly healthcare and emergency facilities in Ukraine.
By the beginning of 2025, more than 80 establishments such as schools, hospitals, and water-pumping stations will have benefited from hybrid solar solutions, making them independent of the energy grid in the event of power cuts and providing autonomy in the regions of Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Mykolayiv, and Rivne. Electriciens is carrying out these projects simultaneously, sizing up requirements and involving more than 6 Ukrainian companies in charge of installation.
