Health Bank

Health Bank

Project description:

Air-raid alerts and rocket attacks make it significantly harder for Ukrainian families from smaller towns and villages to obtain proper healthcare, with transport and other institutions disrupted. It takes several days to visit all the doctors and wait for the test results.

Health Bank is a joint project of the MHP-Hromadi Charitable Foundation and Okhmadyt National Specialized Children’s Hospital of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The Foundation regularly receives requests from communities to arrange visits by Okhmatdyt doctors. Under the Health Bank initiative doctors in various fields, including orthopaedists, psychologists and gynaecologists, visit communities to provide free comprehensive examinations of children. Project target audience is children aged 3 months to 18 years, including those at risk and with specific diseases.

The key advantage of the project is that a child receives a consultation with the required specialist, as well as undergoes a laboratory and physical examination within 1 day. The speed and efficiency of this type of service are sometimes difficult to receive, even in Kyiv’s outpatient clinics. Following the examinations, some children were immediately referred for treatment in Kyiv, while others were prescribed at-home treatment.

In the 9 months of the partnership, the project managed to arrange 7 visits to different regions and examine 1952 children.
