Green Planet


Project description:
The company developed the Green Planet project to raise environmental awareness among children and to enable them to become competent individuals regarding sustainability.
Firstly, training was organized for children between the ages of 7 and 14 from different provinces of Turkey on climate change, recycling, transformation of electronic waste, sustainability, climate change and natural disasters.
Video training content was prepared to enable children to learn while having fun during the training sessions. In the project where a volunteer trainer team, also including Vodafone Turkey volunteers and Vodafone employees, worked, training was provided to more than a thousand students as of April 2022 in the first phase. The last phase of the project was an ideas marathon in June 2022.
In the competition, which was organized in two stages on sustainability and disaster issues, students who had previously participated in awareness training were asked to suggest solutions to world problems.
The aim of the ideas marathon, which is to be held every year, is for school children to become climate ambassadors in their immediate community as individuals who grow up with the awareness of the need to protect our world.
Vodafone Turkey Foundation has continued to raise environmental awareness among children with the Green Planet project designed in cooperation with the Habitat Association. So far, 15.225 students have been reached in 81 provinces of Turkey with a total of 105 volunteer trainers.
