Challenge:

Renewable energy sources, such as; solar,wind,and wave energy, play the most critical and crucial role in reducing the dependence on fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas.

Even though the share of renewable energy in energy production has increased in recent years, it is still not at the desired level.

Therefore, while investing in renewable energy sources, it is critical that all stakeholders be a part of this innovation and process.

In this context, it is required for more stakeholders to participate in this partnership of the process of carbon-free growth of Turkey, by initial public offering (IPO) of renewable energy companies.

Solution:

Not only individuals, but also companies and governments, have to take immediate actions for the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy. Thus, we do our part in creating a healthier environment and to decelerate and prevent the effects of the climate crisis.

By using our renewable resources through hydraulic, wind and solar power plants, we produce approximately 1.9 TWh annually which is a significant contribution to the country’s economy to reduce our current account deficit.

Due to the fact that renewable energy sources can be used more widely ,there is a need for more stakeholders to participate in this partnership.

Results:

As we move towards our 2030 goals, we have transformed our natural resources into clean energy with the vision of being 100% renewable and environmentally friendly, and we have reached an installed capacity of 269 MW, consisting only of wind and sun.

In line with these goals, we are planning to reduce an average of 400,000 tons of carbon annually with the Gold Standard and VCS certified solar and wind power plants.

With this significant experience we have gained, we are shaping the future of our country with clean and environmentally friendly energy.

Galata Wind, Turkey’s first green public offering, has been a pioneer renewable energy company, investing in companies that produce energy from renewable resources for domestic and foreign investors in Turkey.

Galata Wind, which received 8 times demand for its public offering, has been an important step in Turkey’s investment ecosystem in terms of transition to a zero-carbon economy and raising awareness about global trends related to sustainability.
