For the sake of those who rescue. Psychological rehabilitation for hospitallers

Project description:
According to 2023 research by the Gradus Research Company, psychological support is among the top five needs of the Ukrainian military. In the future, it will be most needed by military personnel aged 18 to 30. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine reports more than 12,000 registered cases of patients with PTSD in 2023. This is four times more than in 2021. Therefore, the psychological rehabilitation of our military is extremely important to help overcome psychological trauma and return to normal life.
The team of Dobrobut Mental Health Center, which has experience working with the military, veterans, and prisoners of war, treats the hospitallers free of charge. In the course of implementation, we also faced a request for psychological support for the children of paramedics who are experiencing stress due to the absence of a mother or father. Therefore, they will also receive the necessary help. In total, the program includes 300 hours of sessions with a psychologist and a psychiatrist.
Currently, 18 hospitallers and 2 children of paramedics are undergoing psychological rehabilitation at Dobrobut. Since Dobrobut launched the project on July 22, 2024, it’s still difficult to assess the degree of patients’ recovery, as psychological changes do not occur immediately. However, feedback from the military already shows that this help is needed, especially after witnessing the death of a close person. It’s almost impossible to get through this without the support of a specialist.
