Film club network for non-formal media education on human rights DOCU/CLUB

Project description:
The full-scale Russian military aggression has created serious difficulties for the activities of the DOCU/CLUB company. The team, film club moderators and viewers are constantly risking their lives and health, in particular due to power outages and uncertainty about the planning of events. An additional challenge was the expansion of the Network during the war and the migration of some members abroad.
The company actively applies risk management. To do this:
- Safe spaces with shelters and alternative energy sources are identified to minimize risks.
- Some of the events have been transferred to an online format.
- Film clubs in the frontline areas operate non-publicly, gathering in small groups in relatively safe places.
- A special regulation for film clubs abroad was created, which allowed us to open 5 clubs for the audience that left Ukraine.
The company not only continues its activities, but also expands the DOCU/CLUB Network, which now includes more than 480 film clubs. More than 15 thousand events are held annually, attracting about 40 thousand viewers. The network’s collection includes 130 documentary films, including winners of international film festivals, which contribute to raising awareness of human rights and developing civil society in Ukraine.
