Project description:

Challenge:

Green Evaluation is the first large-scale corporate project of NPC Ukrenergo, covering all ESG components: 

* environmental responsibility: conservation of biodiversity in protected areas, rational use of natural resources, and environmental education;

* social responsibility: cooperation with communities on sustainable development issues, primarily regarding energy efficiency and energy independence; 

* corporate governance:  systematic training of personnel in the field of sustainable development.

Solution:

E component: 

•   Monitoring of the impact of NPC Ukrenergo on biodiversity in five national parks was carried out.
•   The first international conference on post-war nature restoration, REDMO-2024, was held in the history of the modern Ukrainian business sector.

S component:

•   More than 15 communities from 8 regions were involved in activities related to sustainable natural resource management, energy independence, and the use of Smartgrid principles.

G component:

•   Lectures, internships, and work placements in the field of ESG have been conducted for students.

Result:

E: The company’s activities do not have a significant impact on the biodiversity of the National Nature Parks; 3,400 employees of NPC Ukrenergo have been trained in the rational use of natural resources; 19 environmental events have been held for more than 500 young people from eight regions.

S: energy-efficiency training was provided to 230 young people, including children with disabilities;

G: the professional competencies of over 600 students from 12 universities have been improved.
