EPAM Response: Water to the Kherson Oblast

EPAM Response: Water to the Kherson Oblast

Project description:
After the Kakhovska HPP was blown up, about 800,000 people in the south of Ukraine have been left without access to clean drinking water. And though quite a lot of time has passed since the destruction, water supply continues to be an issue in the region.
EPAM Ukraine decided to support the initiative of the Rescue Now Charity Fund to set up three water towers for one of the communities in the region. In addition to financial assistance in dealing with the consequences of the disaster, the company responded to numerous requests from EPAM specialists and created a special fundraising initiative, which with the help of about 800 benefactors managed to raise 1.7 million UAH.
EPAM Ukraine’ has actively participated in the installation of water towers. The first 15-cubic-meter tower has already been installed in the village of Arkhanhelsk, providing clean water to the community since August. Additionally, two more towers, with capacities of 25 and 50 cubic meters, are planned for installation in the Kalynivska and Mylivska communities of the Beryslav district. Restoring centralized water supply to residents of the Kherson Oblast will solve the problem of drinking water for 250 households, which includes more than 400 people.
In addition, the partnership with the Rescue Now NGO is continuing in the sphere of technological expertise; EPAM specialists are currently working on the development of a website for the fund.
