EcoChallenge: The Future of Holosiivskyi National Nature Park is in our hands!

Project description:

Waste left by careless visitors in Holosiivskyi National Nature Park as well as illegal dumps are turning this natural area into an ecological disaster zone. This is a threat to biodiversity and unique ecosystems, which can be destroyed by toxic waste that contaminates soil and water, causing irreparable harm to flora and fauna. What will our children inherit?

To prevent an environmental crisis, the company has united like-minded people. NNP, NGOs, students, active residents, and LLC “Profpererobka” came together to save Holosiivskyi Park. LLC “Profpererobka” provided modern Euro-5 garbage trucks for loading, transporting, and sorting waste for free. Recyclable materials were further transported for processing, while the rest of waste was properly disposed of. Initiated by the park administration, regular cleanups resulted in elimination of trash piles, which became a shared contribution to environmental conservation as well.

In 5 months 15 cleanups were held with 500+ volunteers engaged. It prevented 20 tons of waste from rotting in NNP forests and contaminating soil and water. Today the project continues, but the park has already become much cleaner. The company together with its partners are handling the environmental crisis by involving more and more participants that are ready to make an effort for preserving ecosystems. This case shows how partnerships for sustainable development can change the world for better, save the park, and leave a legacy for future generations. However, there is more to come!
