Eco-delivery

Eco-delivery

ukraine

Period of implementation of the project:

Runs from June 2020

Challenge:

To reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to ensure that Ukraine fulfilled its obligations of the Paris agreement; namely, prevention and adaptation to climate change.

According to the Paris Declaration on “Electro-Mobility and Climate Change & Call to Action” almost a quarter of the greenhouse gases (23%) related to global energy sector comes from transport. In order to prevent global temperature increase to below 2 degrees the International Energy Agency recommends due 2030 to implement global electrification of vehicles. According to this recommendation at least 20% of all the world’s cars must be powered electrically.

Solution:

To achieve the above-mentioned goal and task, TSUM Kyiv has replaced the usual method of delivery of goods from our online store, and that is a fossil fuel car. Now for this purpose we use an electric vehicle – BMW i3.

Results:

On average, our delivery-man drove 1300 km per month to distribute approx. 154-176 orders. The amount of fuel consumed is approx. 104 liters at a consumption of 8 liters per 100 km. Our eco-delivery project with BMW car runs for full three month, meaning that during this time we’ve saved about 312 liters of petroleum, which is equivalent to 745,68 kg of CO2 emissions.
