DIY STEM Lab

DIY STEM Lab

Project description:
Bereznehuvate, located in Mykolaiv Region, was severely affected by the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Educational opportunities for children remaining there are severely limited. This lack of access to STEM education hampers the development of technical skills among youth, potentially impacting their future career prospects and innovative capabilities.
MacPaw Foundation, in partnership with SavED, established a DIY laboratory at the Digital Education Center in Bereznehuvate, Mykolaiv Region. The lab, equipped with modern tools for 3D modeling and robotics, addresses the lack of educational resources and provides students with hands-on STEM experience, fostering their development and innovative thinking despite the challenging circumstances.
The project delivered high-quality STEM education to over 175 students in Bereznehuvate, Mykolaiv Region. In June 2024, the lab hosted 72 students in robotics classes, 67 in 3D modeling. Despite the ongoing full-scale war, students have achieved significant success, including taking second place in regional competitions, demonstrating the positive impact of the initiative on their skills and opportunities.
