Project description: 

Although Dâmbovița River crosses the capital of Romania, the river remains under exploited, representing the largest unused space of the city. Moreover, Dâmbovița and the adjacent boulevards are barriers and separators between sectors, neighborhoods and communities. However, what could we do with this river?

Dâmbovița Delivery is an annual project through which Nod Makerspace fulfills its mission of recovering the public space of Dâmboviţa. Each year, for Dâmbovița Delivery, the manifest event revitalizes a river segment for one weekend. The communities of Bucharest and tourists have the opportunity to enjoy a spectacle of nature through color, music and activities for all tastes and ages, on the temporary pedestrianized boulevard and the river. 

In 2023, for the 4th edition of Dâmbovița Delivery, we have extended events throughout the year and the interventions have strong ecological and educational character, such as a series of greening projects for the river and the riverside, a series of design & build events such as a river water drinking fountain, sitting spaces, repairing or rebuilding the benches on the riverside, a mechanism for collecting waste from the water.
