Connecting Ukrainian refugees with locals in Finland and Norway – Ask for help and give help in Commu

Project description:
Commu App has enabled efficient and largest-scale matching of Ukrainians and locals in Finland and Norway. Launched just 2 days after the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Commu’s Ukrainian version has enabled tens of thousands of Ukrainians to find help from locals in Finland and Norway, from everyday necessities to peer support and life-lasting friendships.
Commu’s idea is simple: it’s a free app, where you can ask for help and give help. Commu’s automatic translation tools, matchmaking algorithm, and simple design make asking for help and giving help easy. Commu has also enabled local companies to help Ukrainians by creating events for families and workshops for finding work all over Finland. These are all to build bridges between locals and Ukrainians, to help with integration and making a home in a new country.
Commu has worked extensively with Finnish immigration services, the Red Cross, local Ukrainian Centers as well as Finland4Ukraine and FinUA.org. projects to get as many Ukrainians to find help as possible.
