Commu – matching Ukrainians with locals in Finland and Norway

Project description:
The Commu App has facilitated efficient and large-scale matchmaking between Ukrainians and locals in Finland. Launched just two days after the start of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian version of Commu has allowed thousands of Ukrainians to find help from locals in Finland, ranging from everyday necessities to peer support and lasting friendships. Commu’s concept is simple: it’s a free app where users can request help and offer assistance. Commu’s automatic translation tools, matchmaking algorithm, and simple design all make it easy to use.
Moreover, Commu has allowed companies to aid Ukrainians by organizing workshops on finding work, as well as events for children and families all over Finland. These initiatives aim to build bridges between locals and Ukrainians, facilitating integration and making a new home in a foreign country. Commu has worked closely with Finnish immigration services, the Red Cross, local Ukrainian Centers, Finland4Ukraine and FinUA-project, to provide as much help as possible to Ukrainians.
“We are honored to present this tool and opportunity. Commu will continue its support for Ukrainians until the war ends. Slava Ukraini!” states Commu team.
