Can’t Wait to Learn, Ukraine

Project description:
The COVID-19 pandemic and the full-scale Russian invasion have caused serious losses for the Ukrainian education system. According to the official data of the Ministry of Education and Science, as of September 2024, more than 3,798 educational institutions have been affected by bombings and shelling, with 365 of them destroyed. The war has led to the rise of 7 million war children, most of whom lack access to education.
A considerable number of elementary school students found themselves outside of Ukraine, making it difficult for them to access their native education system, particularly to learn the Ukrainian language.
Can’t Wait to Learn provides equal access to quality education for Ukrainian primary school students even during full-scale war, mass migration, and blackouts by using science-based EdTech methods. The application enables the child to learn Maths and Reading through educational video lessons based on microlearning approaches. Interactive mini-games help to reinforce the studied material. The application is suitable for both offline learning at school and online one anywhere in the world.
Since September 2024, the application has been downloaded over 128,000 times, and more than 3,000 teachers have joined the community to share their experience of implementing the application in education.
Soon, Ukrainian teachers will receive a methodological guide with recommendations and ready-made gamified lessons, with a circulation of 3,000 copies. It will also be available for everyone to download in PDF format.
