Challenge: 

Every year the business demand for valuable personnel grows. Business often faces the fact that graduates’ skill set does not meet expectations. Potential employees don’t have enough practical and relevant skills, and teachers do not always understand what the market requires today. Higher education is implementing a very important mission to prepare a competitive specialist who has modern skills and understands in which career direction he/she wants to develop.

Solution: 

To strengthen the cooperation between business and universities and to develop a dialogue between teachers and business owners, EY created a Dual Master’s Degree Program “Business Consulting”. It is organized together with the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv following Ukrainian Legislation (The Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”, article 49). 

The duration of the program is 1.5 years.

The form is full-time.

The specialty is Economics. 

Students of the program will be taught by three categories of teachers: 

• university professors
• consultants and auditors of EY Ukraine (certified specialists with international certification and expertise)
• experts of the Ukrainian business consulting market. 

In addition, students will officially work in the company with real projects for EY clients. 

We believe that it will help to achieve a balance of modern theory and practice.

Results: 

Five students became the participants of the program. They are studying in the university and employed in three different departments of EY: audit, consulting, and transfer pricing.

Students are working as interns in the company, involved in real projects and project teams. They have a career mentor (counselor) who helps them build a career.

Students are groupmates and colleagues at the same time. 

Educational plans include lessons by the university teachers, the courses of EY Academy of Business trainers, and external business consultants. Some lessons will be held at the EY office.

Finally, students will gain knowledge in a real business environment and have opportunities to build a career as a manager, an expert analyst, a consultant in global and national companies, business structures, state and local authorities or create their own business.
